Ciao, Lugano!
Hello, Lugano!
The Casa is in the neighborhood of Paradiso. There are many apartment buildings all strategically built for even just a glimpse of the famous Lake Lugano. As the third financial centre of Switzerland after Geneva and Zurich, Lugano is the only canton that is officially Italian speaking. You can see the cranes building new apartments from my balcony.
I took a long walk along the lake where so much activity was taking place,. There was a road race taking place along the lakeside. At first I was shocked with the paper cups all over the place, but fear not, they were all removed within 30 minutes. GONE!
The Swiss take so much pride in their country and communities. From the small village of Prada to this metropolitan city of Lugano, Americans can learn a lot from the Swiss in terms of public pride in their communities. Don’t get caught throwing trash out your car window…the fines are punitive.
At the end of the street from the Casa is the fountain in Lake Lugano….eye-catching and impressive. It served as my return marker after a small pizza and beer.
