A Marian Day: Our Lady of Sorrows
Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. The Sisters have their special devotions today from the Brigittine tradition. Every time one leaves the Casa, you encounter the grotto to Our Lady. It is strategically placed, and calls you to pause for a moment. Like myself, I notice guests stopping for a moment before going on their way. I stop and recite the “Hail Mary” and dedicate the day to her maternal care before I celebrate Mass. A candle is usually flickering and is noticeable in the evening hours. I hope you enjoy this grotto, and pray with me…
O God, who willed that, when your Son was lifted high on the cross, his Mother should stand close by and share his suffering, grant your Church, participating with the Virgin Mary in the Passion of Christ, may merit a share in his Resurrection. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
